Au'roar'a - Looking after your dogs

One2One Dog Training Birmingham and Solihull.

I am a positive reinforcement dog trainer and behaviourist, offering one-to-one dog training consultations in the Birmingham and Solihull area, as well as online consultations.

My approach is based on positive reinforcement, using rewards and encouragement to teach dogs the behaviours we want to see. I do not use punishment-based training. Instead, I help owners understand why their dog is behaving in a particular way and teach them practical, reward-based alternatives.

Four Key Elements of Positive Reinforcement Training

  • Reinforce the behaviour you want by rewarding your dog when they get it right.
  • Manage and redirect unwanted behaviour, rather than relying on punishment.
  • Teach your dog an alternative behaviour that you would like them to do instead.
  • Change your dog's emotional response to things they may find frightening or stressful by gradually associating them with positive, reward-based experiences.

One-to-One Dog Training Consultations

One-to-one consultations are available in person or online and are focused on positive reinforcement, owner education and improving communication between you and your dog.

During your consultation, I can help you:

  • Reinforce good behaviour and build on your dog's successes.
  • Recognise early signs of fear, stress and anxiety.
  • Understand your dog's body language and what they are communicating.
  • Clearly communicate to your dog what behaviour you would like from them.
  • Use rewards, encouragement and positive reinforcement effectively.
  • Teach your dog appropriate alternative behaviours.
  • Build your dog's confidence and help them feel more comfortable in challenging situations.
  • Develop a stronger, more positive relationship between you and your dog.
  • Improve communication so that both you and your dog can better understand each other.

I believe that dog training is about teaching both the dog and the owner. By understanding how your dog communicates and learning how to communicate clearly with them, you can work together to achieve lasting changes.

In Person or Online

I provide in-person one-to-one dog training consultations across areas of Birmingham and Solihull.

If an online consultation is more convenient, I also offer one-to-one consultations by video, allowing you to receive guidance and support from the comfort of your own home.
